Gasifier meeting

We took the car to the annual gasifier meeting in Dala-Järna today. There were about 10 different gasifier systems. Mostly wood gas on cars, but also some stationary systems and coal gas. Some people had travelled from quite far away.

One of the most interesting vehicles was a Ford transit with a gigantic gasifier. He could travel 400 km on one load.

There were some old vehicles from WWII – one Chevrolet and a Volvo truck.

A lot of people had followed the trip around Sweden and came to talk about the trip and congratulate. Especially one person gave me a big impression, tough he was an 85 year old wood gas-veteran and knew all about the trip.

Lars - a clever wood gas enthusiast living in the area, was going to lend me his wood hacker. We went up to his place to load it on the trailer when the meeting was over. The wood hacker is from WWII and Lars has done a really good job, restoring it. Usually he powers it with his coal gas-engine set, but it’s also equipped with an electrical motor.
