Potatoes and snow

I have been in Stockholm for a while. When travelling back home, I stopped at Nirsgården in Hedemora to buy some potatoes for planting. I got a really good price - 2 SEK / kg (0.3$ / kg) (0.13£ / kg) for Organic Matilda and 6 SEK / kg (1$ / kg) (0.5£ / kg) for Organic Sava. I bought 250 kg of Matilda and 50 kg of Sava – as much as we could load in the car. He also gave me a sack of Terragold.

Both Sava and Matilda is good in organic planting. Especially Matilda is resistant against downy mildew.

It started to snow on our way from Hedemora. The snowing became more and more dense and finally it was like the winter had come back. Planting potatoes had to wait and we tried some of the potatoes and I repaired the fertilizer broadcaster instead. We baked a couple of each potato sort and some King Edvard potatoes that I had and then ate them with smoked haring.

Terragold was nice and big but had nothing special in it’s taste. Sava had a touch of nice nut-taste. King Edvard tasted muddy but nice and Matilda was sweet.
